Dr. Andrew B. Watson receives the 2008 ARVO Special Recognition Award from the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology at the annual meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Special Recognition Award is one of ARVO’s most prestigious prizes and is presented periodically to honor outstanding service to ARVO or the vision research community. The citation for Dr. Watson’s award reads: “For his foresight, energy, and dedication in launching and editing ARVO’s first electronic scientific journal, Journal of Vision.” The award is presented to Dr. Watson by ARVO President Martine J. Jager.
