NASA Human Systems Integration Research Featured on MSNBC
(Jul 21, 2010)
On July 13, 2010, NASA Ames Psychophysiology Lab was featured on The Body Odd, a blog on MSNBC.com featuring fascinating human health news. The blog article featured research done by Dr. Patricia Cowings, and Dr. William Toscano on Autogenic-Feedback Training Exercise (AFTE) which NASA uses to teach astronauts and airplane crew and others to control the body functions that contribute to motion sickness. The article, entitled "NASA Wants to Help You Stop Throwing Up" has received more than 50 comments the first week from the general public expressing interest in receiving such training for common motion sickness in cars. Learn more about AFTE by going here- http://humansystems.arc.nasa.gov/groups/psychophysio/.
